Jamie, the proprietor of Jewelry Artisans, embarked on his journey in the jewelry industry 35 years ago in High Point, NC, where he initially served as an assistant manager in a retail jewelry store. Returning to Atlanta in 1993, Jamie found his place at Jewelry Artisans as their store manager. His affection for both the establishment and its clientele led him to acquire Jewelry Artisans in 2000, relocating it to its current location in 2006.
Jamie’s blend of architecture and psychology background fuels his passion to uncover the ideal design or gift for each client. His keen attention to detail, along with a deep appreciation for unique jewelry, distinguishes Jewelry Artisans with its diverse offerings. Jamie is known for his approachability, humor and relaxed demeanor.
Beyond his professional pursuits, Jamie finds joy in watching soccer and indulging in his passions for scuba diving and saltwater aquariums.
Darci (Jamie’s much younger and cuter sister) came to Jewelry Artisans in 1994. Jamie, who was the store manager at the time, was looking for an assistant to the office manager, and that is when her Jewelry Artisans career began. She went on to earn her Accredited Jewelry Professional Certification from GIA, which took her from behind the scenes onto the sales floor. Darci has really enjoyed meeting the many generations of families over the years. Some clients have turned into friends and even family! Outside of Jewelry Artisans, she loves spending time with her beautiful 22 year old daughter, Karlie(who occasionally works at Jewelry Artisans) and 4 rescue pets: a cat, two labradors and one little mixed guy named Mr. Snuggles (he hangs out at the store sometimes).
In Colombia, her passions converged as she merged architectural design with jewelry crafting. As a former bench jeweler turned full time jewelry designer, she has showcased her creations in prestigious exhibitions. She has also ventured into the wholesale sector, enriching her understanding of the industry with invaluable insights that furthered her expertise in appraisal knowledge.
Beatriz has been serving with Jewelry Artisans for over 20 years. Her contribution to the jewelry industry is a fusion of design finesse, academic rigor, global exposure, and a nuanced blend of contemporary aesthetics with ancestral influences. Her unwavering commitment to understanding and fulfilling her clientele’s unique tastes resonates deeply in every meticulously crafted creation.
Born and Raised in Fresno, California, Imani Shakir began her Jewelry Career in 2015 at age 22 at Helzberg Diamonds. She continued to further her knowledge by gaining her GIA Accredited Jewelry Professional Certification in 2017. She has worked in luxury retail and customer service for over 10 years and In September 2021, her journey with Jewelry Artisans began. She continues to grow in the jewelry industry with her love for diamonds and people skills. Engagement Rings and Jewelry Restoration are her favorite subjects. Imani is also our resident engraver.
Heather got her start in fine jewelry in 2013. She is GIA-certified in Diamonds and pearls and is in the process of completing her Graduate Gemologist certification. She specializes in repairs and has won two awards from the Georgia Jewelers Association for custom jewelry design.
He was born in Vietnam and came to the United States in 1993. In 1995, he began his career as a bench jeweler. He started as an apprentice and now he is Jewelry Artisan’s master custom jeweler and shop manager. Bao started at JA in 2001. He can CAD/CAM, cast pieces, and hand engrave. He has extreme attention to detail and has extraordinary dexterity. Bao is particularly skillful at working with platinum and is amazing at pave setting diamonds. Bao is a big foodie and works out almost every day.
Mihn was born in Vietnam and came to the United States in 1993. He has been a bench jeweler by trade for over 40 years. Mihn says “I care about making sure I keep you guys happy [the staff], so you can make the customers happy.” Mihn’s authentic talent at hand fabrication makes him a master at jewelry restoration. He is dedicated to exceeding standards and if he can’t do it… it can’t be done! He enjoys spending time with his wife and two sons in his free time.
